May 7th 2025 — The ProSalus Foundation is proud to announce the launch of a special silent auction to raise critical funds for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. The auction is now live and available to view and participate in at: https://prosalusfoundation.org/product-category/different-together-series-by-anna-khomchyk/

A Business Community Call to Action

The ProSalus Foundation invites companies, business leaders, and corporate partners worldwide to join this effort. In addition to bidding, practices and other suppliers in the veterinary market can show their support by sponsoring individual pictures or making direct contributions via the ProSalus Foundation website via its Donately facility https://pages.donately.com/prosalusfoundationinc/form/frm_123639236a7d

This initiative provides a meaningful way for veterinary organisations to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine while investing in impactful, original artwork and showcasing your support in the reception area of practices and companies. All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly toward funding medical aid, psychological support, and essential humanitarian services for Ukrainian families affected by war.
Dr. Vlad Ushakov, President of the Ukrainian Small Animal Veterinary Association (USAVA) and Board Member of the Ukrainian Veterinary Medical Foundation, shared the ongoing challenges faced by veterinary professionals in Ukraine amidst the largest war in Europe since the Second World War:

“Despite the immense hardships caused by the ongoing war, our colleagues remain dedicated to providing vital veterinary care. Through the USAVA-led BASED program – which stands for Businesses, Animals, Shelters, Education, and Destruction recovery – we are helping to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine’s veterinary community and animal population,” said Dr. Ushakov.

He explained that the BASED program has supported 254 veterinary clinics across Ukraine by securing international partnerships and donations from nearly 100 charitable organizations. Thanks to this effort, over 500 veterinarians have received crucial aid to continue their work. “The impact of this support cannot be overstated,” he added. “In just the past nine months, over 62,000 animals have been vaccinated, and nearly 30,000 have been microchipped.” This remarkable achievement reflects the strength and resilience of Ukraine’s veterinary sector – and the vital role international solidarity plays in sustaining it.

“We believe in the power of business communities to drive positive change,” said Dr Mark Johnston MRCVS, Vice-President of the ProSalus Foundation. “This auction is an opportunity for companies to come together, support Ukraine, and acquire pieces of art that tell a story of courage and hope. If practices would like to acquire one of these lovely pictures and display in the reception area it will also give veterinary clinics a chance to show their support for our colleagues in Ukraine who are experiencing such significant difficulties.”
