BreathEazy, a leading provider of respiratory technology for companion animals and horses, has launched a new series of client factsheets to support vets and nurses in the recognition, communication and long-term management of respiratory disease in dogs, cats and horses. Designed to help owners better understand their pet’s condition, while also saving time in consults and reinforcing key messages, the resources are available to download here – https://mailchi.mp/breatheazy/resourcedownload.

Covering canine chronic bronchitis, feline asthma, and equine asthma, the downloadable materials are designed to help explain complex conditions more effectively, encourage earlier diagnosis, and improve treatment compliance. The factsheets are available free of charge and can be printed, emailed to clients, or displayed in waiting areas and on waiting room screens.
Respiratory flare-ups are common during spring and early summer, with the Met Office identifying mid-May to July as the peak pollen season in the UK. Environmental triggers such as pollen, dust and heat can significantly worsen clinical signs in susceptible animals.
Jon Slattery MRCVS, Director of BreathEazy, explains, “We often see a seasonal spike in respiratory cases at this time of year, particularly in animals with underlying conditions. Having owners on board and confident in managing their pet’s condition is a key part of treatment success. These factsheets offer a time-saving way for vets and nurses to educate clients, reinforce advice given in consults, and help owners understand how to support their pets at home.”
Canine chronic bronchitis, feline asthma and equine asthma are among the most commonly encountered chronic respiratory diseases in their respective species. Despite this, they may be underdiagnosed – either because signs are intermittent, subtle or mistaken for other issues such as ageing, hairballs or poor fitness by owners. Raising owner awareness is key to supporting earlier diagnosis and improving long-term outcomes.
Each factsheet features clear explanations of the condition as well as its impact, key clinical signs owners should look out for, an overview of treatment options, including inhaled medications, and practical tips for ongoing care at home.
BreathEazy is the UK distributor of the AeroKat®, AeroDawg® and AeroHippus® spacer devices and the Flexineb® equine and companion animal nebuliser range. Inhaled therapy targets medication delivery to the lungs and lower airways, reducing side effects associated with systemic medication and improving treatment outcomes. The new factsheets complement these devices, helping to support successful long-term management of respiratory disease.
