Lecture Description:
This discussion panel delivered during Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month follows BVNA’s publication of guidance on how to maximise the RVN role under current legislation. In this session, we’ll provide practical examples of how the RVN skillset can be utilised and developed more effectively.
Utilising RVNs’ skills to their full potential has many benefits, at an individual, veterinary team and business level. These include enhancing job satisfaction in RVNs, providing additional support to veterinary surgeons’ workload, improving team efficiency, and ultimately, promoting patient welfare.
Whilst we recognise the need for legislative reform of the current Veterinary Surgeons Act, there are still opportunities to develop RVN teams and individuals under existing legislation – and we’ll explore these opportunities during this discussion.
Chaired by BVNA President Lyndsay Hughes, we will be joined by:
- Liz Cox
- Liz Mullineaux
- Jo Oakden
- Marie Rippingale
- Nikki Ruedisueli
We’re inviting questions from attendees to pose to our panel* – if you would like to submit these, please send them to bvna@bvna.co.uk.
*Please note, for advice on the delegation of specific tasks, we recommend contacting the RCVS directly.
