Joanne Waldron RVN
Joanne qualified as an RVN in 2001, before gaining her CertFN in 2013. She subsequently achieved her DTLLS certificate with Staffordshire University, and became a Vetskill examiner in 2022. She still works in general practice as a Head Nurse and Head of Education.
Kayden Potts RVN
Kayden qualified as an RVN having been in practice since 2009. Working in mixed practice for the first half of his career, he returned to small animal practice in 2019 and became a clinical coach this year.
Summary of event:
This informal event will provide a hands-on practice day for SVNs, as valuable preparation for completing the OSCE assessment. The day will include:
– An introduction to OSCEs and exam day expectations
– How to fulfil all criteria in each OSCE
– The opportunity to practice a number of OSCE tasks, as well as for delegates to assess each other under mock OSCE conditions
– Revision and preparation tips
– How to manage time during the OSCEs
– How to prepare for your exam day
Please note – this event will include examples of OSCEs across each of the awarding organisations to ensure all attendees can be accommodated.
Staffordshire BVNA Advocate:
Emma Hall GradDipVN, NCert(AnBeh),VNCertECC, CertDent, CertVNES, CA-SQP, A1, IOSH, Recover Rescuer Certified, RVN Emma started her veterinary nursing career in 1996 at a busy mixed practice. She progressed through her SVN training, qualified then took on the head nurse role, then surgery manager to her current role of Group Nursing Manager for a group of 5 practices. Throughout her career Emma always has a thirst for knowledge and has collected many post grad certificates and loves to pass her new found knowledge onto her team. Emma has been a Clinical Coach since 2006 and loves to see the students’ confidence and skills grow. |
