Registrations now open for diamond 60th celebrations at BVNA Congress 2025

The British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) has today launched registrations for its annual three-day Congress, taking place this year between Friday 10th and Sunday 12th October 2025 at Telford International Centre. The event promises to bring the veterinary nursing community together to learn, network, socialise, and celebrate BVNA’s 60th year of representing the profession.

BVNA Congress is long-established as the UK’s largest event dedicated to veterinary nurses, providing collaborative, practical and hands-on learning, in addition to five full-day lecture streams. This year sees the event continue a theme of ‘Progression’, to mirror the association’s 60th anniversary year and recognise the progress made in the VN profession during this time.

Tickets are now on sale, with a special BVNA birthday rate available to members until 31 March 2025.

As a special offer to BVNA members, prices are currently frozen at the 2024 rate until 31 March 2025. To extend BVNA’s 60th birthday celebrations to the whole VN profession, all non-members will receive a year’s digital BVNA membership included within their BVNA Congress registration. The first 60 delegates to register will also receive a limited-edition members badge (pictured).

Progression

Each morning includes a headline ‘Progression’ stream. These sessions aim to inspire veterinary nurses to recognise their ability to lead and advocate for the patients and people around them, whether in a leadership role or not; to identify opportunities where RVNs could be better utilised in their own workplace; and to be aware of the vast opportunities available by being a part of the VN profession.

Each morning will address a different area of ‘Progression’:

  • Every VN is a leader
  • Maximising RVN utilisation
  • Your career passport

An opportunity to network and socialise

BVNA Congress provides an excellent relaxed environment for learning, as well as providing much-needed opportunities to connect with fellow members of the VN community. The large exhibition will provide delegates with the chance to network with exhibitors, plus meet friends and colleagues whilst enjoying a break between lectures. The exhibition hall also contains a practical learning zone – ‘The BVNA Veterinary Clinic’ – where delegates will have the opportunity for free-of-charge practical learning, with no booking required. The exhibition’s ‘Makers Market’ will also return in 2025, making the event accessible for veterinary nurses with small businesses and side-hustles.

The ever-popular social events include Friday night’s Musical Bingo, plus Saturday night’s ‘Swinging Sixties’ themed awards ceremony and gala dinner.

Message from BVNA President, Lyndsay Hughes

Lyndsay says: “In our 60th year of championing the veterinary nursing profession, at BVNA we are so excited to welcome our wonderful community through the doors of BVNA Congress to celebrate with us.

“Our scientific programme is, as always, packed with opportunities to learn and impactful takeaways to implement in your professional practice – whether in or out of clinical practice. This year continues my Presidential theme of ‘Progression’ – and it really reflects the monumental strides we are making as a profession at this moment in time.

“One of my favourite features of BVNA Congress is the presentation of our bursaries and awards. These both provide an important opportunity to showcase the inspirational individuals who make up our profession, and who may go unseen on a day-to-day basis. Don’t miss the opportunity to nominate an individual who deserves to be recognised; we’ll be announcing the award categories and accepting nominations a little later in the year.

“Finally, our social events are not to be missed – and I’m especially looking forward to seeing the ‘Swinging Sixties’ themed costumes making an appearance during Saturday’s award ceremony and dinner dance event.

“Thank you to all of our members who have enabled BVNA to reach this milestone year – we can’t wait to share our 60th birthday celebrations with you in-person!”
