Let’s talk dentals…
They are a common procedure that you might see in clinical practice. But there is more to it than cracking off some tartar and giving them a good polish…
Join our tutor Sarah Ramsden a.k.a The Dental RVN as she takes you through a 101 guide to caring for your dental patients in hospital and once they are discharged from your care!
You will learn what is normal/abnormal and be able to assess teeth during routine clinics and be able to further support clients on oral healthcare at home and feel confident with your recommendations.
We will look into what a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) and student veterinary nurse (SVN) are legally allowed to do in practice including setting up and running successful dental clinics, anaesthesia/analgesia considerations and the practical aspects of dentistry from gingiva probing to descaling (there will be a separate module on dental radiography as this is a relatively new procedure in the dental world.
These modules are designed with patient welfare at the forefront, firstly for home care and client compliance and secondly how to minimise anaesthesia time by being confident and competent in what you are doing.
This course will provide you with 7 hours of CPD that you can do at your own pace!
All our courses include small bitesize videos with an accompanying workbook so you don’t have to write a single word (unless you want an excuse to get your stationary out..
