The Moores Orthopaedic Clinic celebrates their 1000th patient.

Independent orthopaedic-only referral practice, The Moores Orthopaedic Clinic in Hampshire, has hit a significant milestone – reaching their 1,000th patient. As a new, niche, discipline-specific referral clinic, this achievement is a credit to their commitment to clinical excellence, the well-earned reputation of their two specialist surgeons and a testament to the trust and loyalty they have built within their community.

Clinical Director, Andy Moores comments, “Our goal when opening The Moores Orthopaedic Clinic was to provide excellent affordable care, and we have stayed true to that. As well as offering world class orthopaedic care to dogs and cats in the south of the UK, we have also provided learning opportunities to the veterinary community, and we would like to thank our referring vets for their on-going support. This milestone is a proud moment for the entire team and motivates us to continue raising the bar for the veterinary profession.”

The Moores Orthopaedic Clinic, located in Upton Grey, Basingstoke, proudly opened its doors in May 2023 led by RCVS-Recognised Specialists in Small Animal Orthopaedics, Andy Moores and Chris Jordan. The clinic was designed specifically for orthopaedic patients, for example, including HEPA-filtered ventilation in the surgical suite. Design features such as this help to minimise post-surgical complications after complex orthopaedic procedures. Being confident in their surgical outcomes and low complication rates means the clinic also offers a surgical guarantee after common procedures to allow pet owners further peace of mind.

As a proudly independent practice, the clinic attributes its success to its innovative approach to pet healthcare. Along with being pioneers in introducing 12-month surgical guarantees, the team are leading advanced procedures. Following an invitation to attend the inaugural TATE technology course in Boston, US, Andy is one of only three surgeons in the UK and the only one in the south certified to perform third-generation TATE elbow replacement surgery.

Andy continues, “End-stage elbow disease is a horrible condition for dogs and owners alike. The updated TATE technology allows us to offer a viable elbow replacement option for some of these dogs.”

In September 2024, the clinic was also accredited Silver Cat-Friendly Clinic status by the International Society of Feline Medicine, recognising the measures taken by staff to actively take extra steps specifically for their feline patients.

As the Moores Orthopaedic Clinic celebrates their 1000th patient and reflect over their achievements, they continue to look to the future with ongoing plans to expand their customer base and continue to provide the high level of care they have been recognised for.
