
The cutting-edge Purina® PRO PLAN® Symposium will bring together leading experts from across Europe to explore the latest integrative approaches to gastrointestinal health in companion animals. Held in collaboration with the EuroGut Society, the hybrid event will take place on 2nd April from 09.00 to 17.30 (CEST), 08:00 – 16:30 (BST) and is available to join free online.

The symposium will feature a diverse and comprehensive program covering essential topics related to gastrointestinal health. Attendees will gain in-depth insights into fat digestion and its role in managing acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases in dogs and cats, as well as practical strategies for handling complex hyperlipidemia cases. Veterinary professionals will also explore clinical applications of microbiota analysis, discussing different methodologies and their impact on patient outcomes.
The speaker lineup features an exceptional group of key opinion leaders including Dr. Christina Germain, Principal Nutritionist at Nestlé Purina Petcare, specialising in pet nutrition research and development, Dr Linda Toresson of the Gastrointestinal Laboratory, Texas A&M University and Dr. Cecilia Villaverde, a diplomate in veterinary and comparative nutrition.
Beyond clinical topics, the symposium will include interactive sessions focused on developing skills to support veterinary professionals in practice. These include a session with Laura Woodward, a vet, author and accredited counsellor, dedicated to mental resilience and aiming to equip veterinary professionals with strategies to strengthen personal and professional well-being. There will also be discussions on the evolving veterinary digital landscape from Dr Adele Williams-Xavier, founder of AiWX Consultancy, highlighting AI-driven tools that can enhance clinical efficiency, improve diagnostics, and optimise patient care.
