BVNA announces incoming Council members and officer team for 2025/6

The British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) recently called for applications from its RVN and SVN members to join BVNA Council, in order to support the association’s work to champion the voice of the veterinary nursing profession.

Following approval at the most recent BVNA Council meeting on Saturday 12th July 2025, BVNA is delighted to announce the successful candidates from this application and selection process, along with the incoming officer team for 2025/6.

BVNA Council application and selection 2025 – statement of results

BVNA received 17 valid applications during the application window, which was open between Monday 31st March and Saturday 31st May 2025.

Applications were assessed by a selection panel via an anonymous scoring process, where candidates were shortlisted for interviews. Following the conduction of interviews, one Student member and four Full (RVN) members were selected to join BVNA Council.

The selected candidates are as follows:

Student seat

  • Alice Langstone

Full (RVN) seats

  • Emily Bacon RVN
  • Macauly Gatenby RVN
  • Dan Lidgbird RVN
  • Krishna Mistry RVN

The five successful candidates will be presented to the BVNA AGM for ratification on Saturday 11th October 2025.

BVNA officer team 2025/6

Also to be ratified at the BVNA AGM, the incoming BVNA officer team for the 2025/6 term will be as follows (pictured left to right):

  • Sarah Holliday RVN – President
  • Lyndsay Hughes RVN – Senior Vice President
  • Steph Worsley RVN – Junior Vice President
  • Nikki McLeod RVN – Honorary Secretary
  • Hamish Morrin RVN – Honorary Treasurer
