Lecture Synopsis:
In 2024 49% of vets reported an increase in overweight and obese animals. It’s no secret that obesity causes a whole host of health problems in humans, but pet carers often fail to see the implications of a few extra pounds on their beloved animals.
We are a group of UK animal charities that are passionate about changing this narrative, and are collaborating to “ trim the fat” on the nations pets. Together we hope to raise awareness, educate, and reduce the weight of our furry friends. We want to see healthier animals, with happier hearts, improved mobility, reduced risk of disease….and fitting in to smaller harnesses and collars!
Join us so we can all stop feeding the problem and start feeding the solution.
Learning Points:
- Gain practical tips and confidence for discussing obesity with caregivers in a way that inspires positive change
- Learn from both veterinary and behaviour perspectives to strengthen your approach to obesity management
- Work through thought-provoking case examples that bring the challenges of obesity in clinical and rehoming settings to life
